Guía de Cádiz: 'Santa María del Mar'
This series of photographs by Daniel Vázquez, so CASA LAMAR, reflect the visual vocabulary that is our constant creative inspiration.
Santa María del Mar, 'The little beach of women', a unique space in our city that, every spring, regains its most sublime moment. The breeze filled with a clear and gentle light, which does not dazzle but caresses, full of crystals of renewed salt. Sit on the sand, close your eyes and listen to the gentle lapping of the waves, or walk barefoot as if time did not exist, only space, this space.
Facing south and west, it brings us the sound of nearby Africa, but also some May sunsets with which to enjoy its spectacle of oranges or violets. Behind it, above, the palm trees and El Pirulí, with its slim boat silhouette, are witnesses of the wonders that this unique Cadiz enclave gives us.
In it there are vestiges of the road that linked Gades with Rome, an opportunity to let the imagination free and transport oneself to other worlds, to other times, but alive for the walker. Feel that this round and blue sky, that this spring breeze, are just like those that others lived thousands, yes, thousands of years ago, here.
This series of photographs by Daniel Vázquez, so CASA LAMAR, reflect the visual vocabulary that is our constant creative inspiration: the spaces, the moments, the intimate beauty of our south turned coast, the encounter of our land with the immense sea.
